Pet Photography with Bentley

Pet Photography
http://www.sbethridgephotography.com/ - a=0&at=0&mi=2&pt=1&pi=10000&s=3&p=1The biggest reason I enjoy shooting pets, I’ll be honest with you….they NEVER tell me to stop. They never say, “I don’t look good today” they never say, “I’m not dressed for a picture” they never say, “don’t take my picture or “do I look fat?” They just go with the flow. Now that I think about it, maybe I should only concentrate on Pet Photography.
Take my own dog, Bentley. He is a star for the camera. Of course, he hasn’t had much choice. I’ve had the camera in his face since he was 7 weeks old. He is now 11 months. I’ve found the key to success when taking pictures of you pets, is to allow them time to get used to the camera. Let your pet see the camera, or better yet, sniff the camera. They relate best when their nose is involved.
Another trick to successful pet photography is to let your pet see the equipment being used often and with others in the household, or with your friends. Never underestimate what your pet keeps his eyes on. If they see your camera and other photography equipment being used a lot, they don’t get skittish when you whip it out on them.
Side notes:
Yes, treats help. In fact, treats help everyone involved in the photo shoot, as a matter of fact. If you’re looking to have your pets’ picture taken for a special occasion, you might consider a practice shoot before the actual day. On the day of the shoot, make sure your dog is fed and exercised before getting started. Trying to get a hungry, rambunctious pet to following to your instructions when ALL they care about is food and/or snacks
The bottom line is this; whether you’re doing pet photography for a living or it just having fun. You just can’t go wrong looking into the eyes of your favorite friends.

About Steve Ethridge Photography

About Me:

You can have your picture taken or you can create a memory. The choice is yours, but for Steve Ethridge Photography, my photography method is to go beyond the physical subject and deliver emotion, to tell a story.

Welcome to Steve Ethridge Photography. I’m glad you stopped by to visit.

Like most art, Photography is very personal. It’s subject to different interpretation. When you browse through the photographs on my webpage, I hope you’ll take a moment, looking at each one and see the story in it. From the newly engaged couple to a father and daughter moment of tenderness to a “dog’s life,” I challenge you to hear what the picture is telling you.

When I started taking photographs with “disposable” cameras years ago, I found myself obsessed watching other professional photographers. I would wonder, just what do they see behind their lens. I’m blessed to now know. As a professional photographer, I see Happiness, Joy, Worry, Sadness, Hope, Love, Pleasure and more. It all comes out in a picture. That is what is important in my photographs. My goal is to tell a story, create a memory, and leave my customers with photographs that make their life, alive.

I was born and raised in Eufaula, Alabama, but as an adult, I’ve traveled the world extensively and lived in Chicago, Dayton, Minneapolis, Atlanta and currently live in the Tampa Bay Area. Regardless of where I’ve visited or where I’ve lived, I’ve learned that my constant companion (my camera) affectionately known as “Sootisoo” is always an ice breaker, a conversation starter and the rest of the story you’ll see in my photographs.

I hope you enjoy. Stop by anytime and stay as long as you’d like.
